The HEI/USC Hearing and Communication Neuroscience (HCN) Program offers three different opportunities for formal physician/scientist training in the labs of HCN faculty members.
I. USC Keck School of Medicine MD/PhD Program.
This program enrolls six – eight students annually. Students select the basic science, clinical or engineering program of their choice during the first two years of the medical curriculum. For program details see USC Keck School of Medicine MD/PhD Program
II. The USC Keck School of Medicine, Dept. of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Residency Training Program.The program offers a special track for residents to spend 1 – 2 years in research in one of the member labs. III. House Ear Clinic Neurotology Clinical Fellowship ProgramThis program offers select individuals opportunities to do research in member labs for a period of 1 – 2 years. For program details see House Ear Clinic Neurotology Clinical Fellowship Program
Entrance is through application to each individual program, and applicants must meet the requirements of each individual program. Selection for research positions and funding within the Hearing and Communication Neuroscience Program is through a separate selection committee.
